Alexander Kariotis has been given the exceptional honor of being invited to record his voice on the original wax cylinder recording system that was used by Thomas Edison for the first sound recordings in history.
Alexander joins an elite list of performers and celebrities who have recorded on wax cylinder where the art of recording was born.
Previous notables who have made historic recordings include trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the guitarist Les Paul and current presidential candidate, Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Alexander will be recording six operatic arias and four Italian songs. The recording session will be open to public viewing as part of the annual Thomas Edison Day celebration. |
